After Steve Harvey's mishap with announcing the wrong winner for the 2015 Miss Universe, the panel of representatives for the Miss Colombia organization has pushed for the immediate suspension from participation of future Binibining Pilipinas winners (representatives from the Philippines).

"We feel that it is only right to suspend the Philippines from the competition after what happened with the most recent event," noted in the presser by the Miss Colombia panel.

Ariadna Gutiérrez, the most recent Miss Colombia winner and the 1st runner-up in the 2015 Miss Universe pageant, had no comments about the suspension of Pia Wurtzbach's home country. The Miss Universe herself is yet to comment.

The WME/IMG board of directors clarified that Wurtzbach's crown will not be confiscated as she has already been crowned as the winner. "We don't want to pull the crown twice," joked their spokesperson.

It has been noted that after the mishap Steve Harvey has since apologized to the public, but the bullying of Wurtzbach continued on social media by a handful of Miss Colombia's supporters.

Miss Universe 2015, the 64th Miss Universe pageant, was held on December 20, 2015 at the The AXIS, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Paulina Vega of Colombia crowned her successor Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines. 80 contestants competed in this year.
