Manny Pacquiao signs with World Wrestling Entertainment
STAMFORD - World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has confirmed the signing of the first and only eight-division world champion in boxing Manny Pacquiao in a press conference held at their headquarters in Stamford, CT.

"Signing Pacquiao is one of the biggest moves we've done this year and we had a good year if I may say so with the WWE Network launching in India," said Paul Levesque who is better known by his ring name Triple H.

Levesque was the primary speaker in the press conference at WWE headquarters in which he announced that the WWE will be hosting two shows in the Philippines in 2016. Although he did not specify where, he said that they were eyeing a show in Manila and a show in southern Philippines.

The big announcement was Manny Pacquiao signing with the wrestling company. The boxing icon and Philippine congressman was not present at the press conference. He, however, was able to answer a few questions via Skype. A full transcript can be found on WWE's corporate website.

Whether or not he will participate as an in-ring competitor or just as an ambassador:

Pacquiao: "I will [definitely] be participating in some wrestling in some way. I am a very big fan of the sport and with WWE launching the WWE Network to [sic] Philippines, I think it's a good opportunity for me to step in the ring with their WWE Superstars."

Levesque closed the press conference with the hint of the WWE Network launching in the Philippines by early 2016. A promotional video for their upcoming event Survivor Series played for the audience in attendance.
